[GRAPHIC: Our Working Relationship]

CRAIG SMALL: Trust and credibility I think are the, are two of the most important values that a lawyer can have. When, when, you know when you come in, from the start we're developing a relationship based on trust. And, you know, I want, I want you to trust me and of course I have to trust what you're saying is, is true.

I think by the time we get to trial I, I feel like I know you pretty well. And I feel like you're--I feel like I know, I know your case, I know you, I know your family because of this time that we've spent together litigating your case. And, and my goal at trial is to convey that to the jury. And I don't think I have a hard time doing that.

I think that when I--I'm the type of person that can understand you and can relate that to a jury. I'm not a--I don't come off as arrogant or condescending, I think I'm personable. And I, I, I want the jury--I think it's important that the jury like me and then they'll like you. Because if they get a good feeling about me, they'll say, oh well, he's a nice guy, you know, the client seems pretty decent too.

So I think you have to when you, you know when you start out at jury selection you're meeting these people for the first time and you want to make a good first impression. You're telling them about the person that you represent. I'm telling them about you. I'm telling them, you know, what you've been through. And when you get on the stand and you introduce yourself to these people what you're saying is going to confirm what I've already explained to them.
